Key Dates

The key dates listed below are relevant for parents who are applying for places for their child to start Hartford Church of England High School at the beginning of Year 7. Where parents wish to apply for a place after the start of Year 7, an application should be made as soon as possible. Key Admission Dates for Year 7 - September 2027 Intake

1st September 2026 - Application Process Opens

9th September 2026 - Open Evening - 5pm to 8pm

14th September 2026 until 23rd October 2026 - 9:30am to 11am - Parent and Child Tours of the school with the Headteacher (weekdays)

31st October 2026 - Last Date for Applications to be made to the local authority.

31st October 2026 - Last Date for Applications for Foundation Places to be handed to the school.

1st March 2027 - Parents notified of their child's allocated secondary school place.

1st March 2027 - All parents of students allocated places at Hartford Church of England High School will receive an email and invitation to our 'New Intake Welcome Evening'.

21st April 2027 - New Intake Welcome Evening

TBC - Year 6 Uniform Trying on Evening - Drop-in session where parents can purchase uniform but also identify what size to buy!

28th June 2027 - Transition Week Begins - Bespoke transition sessions held by invitation on Monday (28th June, SEND Students) and Tuesday (29th June, Small/CE Schools).

All Year 6 students attend for the day on Wednesday (30th June) and Thursday (1st July). A disco is held on Friday (2nd July) evening for all Year 6 students.

30th June 2027 - Year 6 Parents' Evening

Throughout the summer term, our Head of Transition, Ms Daniels, visits primary schools and therefore the children in Year 6 to find out more about them.
